This fundamental course introduces the basic principles of computer organization and operation. It covers number systems and information representation, Boolean algebra, and the design of combinational and sequential logic circuits. Students also gain essential knowledge of computer architecture and memory systems through the study of a pedagogical machine. The course provides a solid foundation for further studies in programming, operating systems, and computer networks.
