Operational Research is a scientific discipline that aims to assist in rational and optimal decision-making in complex situations. It relies on the use of mathematical, statistical, and computational methods to model real-world problems related to management, production, transportation, logistics, or planning. Its main objective is to determine the best possible solution among several alternatives, while considering available constraints such as time, cost, and resources. The Operational Research module includes the study of linear programming, duality, network programming, integer programming, and sometimes game theory or simulation, thus enabling students to develop analytical and problem-solving skills within a decision-making context.

Business Intelligence Denotes an organizational plan, tools, and processes chosen to help gain information from diversified sources of which information derived must be evaluated, consolidated then reported back to the management and all other stakeholders so as to inform the key decision and, in fact, the effective attainment of any organizational operational efficiency-related goal together with a competitive edge. Business Intelligence Systems collect wide-ranging data from different origins of data; these may consist of an internal database in an organization, cloud-based computing environments, and many more external databases
