Course Overview:
This course introduces the fundamental concepts, methods, and tools of bioinformatics for master’s students in computer science. Students will learn to analyze biological sequences, use bioinformatics tools, and manipulate biological databases. By the end of the course, students will be able to apply computational techniques to problems in genomics and proteomics, perform sequence alignments, predict genes, and annotate proteins using standard bioinformatics tools.
