The Civilisation of the Target Language course provides students with an overview of British and American history and culture. It introduces major historical events and developments, focusing on the political, cultural, economic, and religious life of Britain and the United States from early times to the late and post-Middle Ages. The course also introduces key political and historical concepts in Old English and their modern meanings. Through the course, students develop their ability to compare different periods in British and American history and acquire vocabulary related to political, historical, and religious topics. The course also encourages student participation, interaction, and discussion through a range of classroom activities.

This module explores the practical application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to enhance English language proficiency. It focuses on leveraging digital tools and AI-powered applications to develop the four core skills:

  • Speaking & Listening: utilizing AI speech coaches for intonation, stress, and pronunciation.

  • Reading & Writing: applying digital tools for text analysis, composition, and automated feedback.

  • Autonomous Learning: building a personalized toolkit of apps for continuous language improvement.
